Romance scams

Met someone online, through an app, dating site, maybe email?
Are they asking you to send them money just so you can meet them? For the first time?

Are they in sudden need of financial aid?

Don’t transfer the money, you may be a victim to a romantic scam.
Many of this cases end with financial lost & a heartbreak.

 

Person in need scams

A person claiming to be a lawyer, policeman is calling you telling you are they are near you family member, they are asking you to send them money ASAP to pay for an emergency medical service?
This could be a fraud.

Try to call the family member directly, and make sure you have all the details.

Do not transfer the money, you won’t be able to retrieve it.

Lottery scams

Did you receive a phone call, email, SMS announcing you won a lottery?

Do you even remember entering a lottery?

Are you asked to pay a downpayment in order to receive the money prize?

You may be a victim of scam.

Keep in mind; once you transfer the money, and it is collected, you will never be able to retrieve it.

 

Internet shopping scam

Came across an incredible deal online, for something you’ve been looking for some time now?

Do good of a deal? Too good?
Is the seller insisting you pay partially in cash?

Stop. Don’t transfer the money, this could be a scam.
